Linda and I just completed our third charter on the Delphine, and it was delightful as always. Brad and Shana, took excellent care of us and attended to our every need.
For this voyage we went west from St. Thomas to the Spanish Virgin Islands which are lesser known and much less crowded than the BVI’s, just what we needed to really unwind after a very busy year! Captain Brad is very familiar with these islands, knowing many anchorage options where we were often the only boat or perhaps just one or two others. The nighttime view of the Milky Way and the peaking Geminid Meteor Shower was spectacular with the dark nights and wonderful trampoline to lie on.
Captain Brad is particularly observant of things around him, whether its a slight change in the wind and waves that might mean we change overnight anchorages to stay calm, to when your beer has run low and needs a replacement.
The food has always been very good, but Shana has stepped it up a lot with more emphasis on freshly made on the boat meals. Pork tenderloin, panko encrusted salmon, shrimp & avocado salad, gazpacho, even mango sorbet made that day. All meals were beautifully presented.
The Delphine has continuous updates to systems. Since our last voyage, they’re installed a new and much more powerful generator. The advantage is we could run the air conditioning overnight when the breeze had died down. The higher capacity also allowed everything to run at once – A/C, water-making, microwave, etc. We look forward to returning for our 4th charter aboard!
